Allegra Drum Crafters was founded in 1996 by Dave Peterson in Portland Oregon.
The company enjoys a state of the art reputation with numerous top awards, starting with successive Snare Drum Olympics competition honors and most recently earning the 2011 Drum Magazine "Drummie Award" for the Best Custom Drum Builder category. Allegra Drums are known nationwide as the Gold Standard Of Drums in the studio and most of all Tools Of The Trade for the serious artist and sound engineer. They all agree Allegra has reset the bar on quality, resonance, response and musicality of drums!
Allegra's distinctive sounds and designs were created by Dave Peterson, drawing on his primary background in acoustical instrument design. Dave's initial endeavors with instrument design and evaluation came with conical brass wind instruments and over the years he has successfully integrated these functional elements and principals into the superior playing characteristics in every Allegra Drum.
